Review: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure
I admittedly fell into the
trap allure of the very hyped Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes. Since at the time of their release (and even now) most colors were sold out, I had to forgo my first pick, Diffused Heat, and settle for my second one, Mood Exposure. I told myself I would pick up Diffused Heat if I ended up loving Mood Exposure. Although I do love it, I don’t see myself forking out $35 for another one of these.
Repeating what everyone else has mentioned, the Hourglass Blushes are undeniably soft and have a very luxurious texture. They’re easy to blend and have semi-opaque buildable pigmentation. I don’t find that they accentuate my pores and the shimmer in them is very refined. However, as nice as these blushes are (judging from the one I own and all the times I’ve swatched the other colors), they just seem a bit to similar to MAC Mineralize Blushes (the permanent ones). I know some people will disagree and I admit the Hourglass blushes are a little softer, but I’m okay with sacrificing a bit of texture and save myself $10. So, do I think the Hourglass Blushes are the most amazing blushes around? No. Do I love them? Yes, but they are beyond my budget so I’d rather settle for cheaper baked blushes which are similar.
Have you tried any of these? Have any of you seen these at local Sephoras? Because, I swear, I’ve been to 6 different Sephoras lately and all of the colors are sold out except Ethereal Glow. Have you noticed this too?
