Review: MAC Let’s Skate Paint Pot
Hi, lovelies! Sorry if this seems repetitive, considering I posted about another MAC Paint Pot only a few days ago (Soft Ochre). Let’s Skate is part of the new (and permanent!!) line of Pro Longwear Paint Pots from MAC. I wanted Let’s Skate since it was first released with the MAC Glitter & Ice holiday collection back in 2011. I literally squealed when I read Let’s Skate would be coming back. Sounds silly but I know I’m not the only one that gets super excited about makeup!
Let’s Skate is what I would call a champagne pink. It’s very light, but the pink is definitely noticeable in person. It has really fine multicolored glitter (mostly gold and white). It’s not 100% opaque, but it’s definitely pigmented. On the eyes the glitter reflects a lot of light (I wouldn’t call it subtle).
It feels very creamy and blends easily. You can tell a difference in terms of texture compared to a matte Paint Pot, but it doesn’t feel gritty at all. The shimmer is very fine. I find Paint Pots set quickly so try to work fast (one eye at a time).
It lasts a long time and wears well on its own. If used as a base, it improves the staying power of any eyeshadow. Even though it wears really well, I don’t feel like it’s anything amazing (like the Maybelline Color Tattoos) to justify the “Longwear” label.
Overall: I adore this Paint Pot. It was everything I was hoping it would be. I’ve actually been using this more than Soft Ochre. I bought Soft Ochre to use as a base and never alone, but Let’s Skate gives me a lot of versatility. It will lighten, brighten, and add shimmer to any eyeshadow you put over it. Plus, it looks gorgeous on its own and the name is really cute. I definitely recommend it!
