Review: MAC Melba Blush
Continuing the project of reviewing every MAC Blush ($17 for refill pan, $21 for compact) in my collection, today I bring you Melba. Although I have a handful of their blushes, Melba has secured its place as one of my favorites. It’s one of those no-fuss blushes that goes with everything! It’s like that one bag that you constantly reach for because you don’t have to think about if it matches your outfit or not. Usually, those types of barely-there shades are very beige or brown (like a neutral, think NARS Douceur or Tarte Exposed) but what I like about Melba is that it’s a bit peachy so it adds warmth and stands out from the rest.
MAC Melba (left) and Peaches (right)
The quality is consistent with most permanent MAC blushes: soft, blendable, long-lasting, pigmented, and generally easy to work with. It’s somewhat similar to Peaches (also from MAC) which is why I photographed the two side by side. The difference is that Peaches has a stronger orange undertone and is less pigmented than Melba (because Peaches has a Sheertone finish and Melba is a Matte).
If someone asked me which three blushes from MAC I recommend I would probably say: Melba, Warm Soul, and Fleur Power. Which three would you recommend?

27th Apr 2014 - 2:51 amMelba is the one MAC blush that I would really love to get my hands on. It just looks so lovely and a lot of my more nuded blushes are more pink leaning, so I feel like this would be very unique in my collection!

27th Apr 2014 - 4:31 amI do like this shade, it s a beautiful soft peach with a light brown undertone in my opinion which is exactly something I love! I love wearing shades that are warm and light brownish! Thanks for the recommendation I do plan to check out some of their blushes!

27th Apr 2014 - 11:19 amMelba was the very first blush that I bought from MAC. It's such a pretty colour and I love that it's matte as I'm not too keen on shimmery blushers X

27th Apr 2014 - 1:23 pmSoooo pretty on you! I actually don't own any MAC blushes which is a bit of a shocker for a makeup junkie … but I don't know, they didn't appeal to me over the other offerings on the market from NARS/Tarte/Benefit/etc. I love your makeup here and Melba looks perfect on you.

28th Apr 2014 - 3:08 amYeah, I mean, here in the U.S. MAC is awesome because its at a mid price point between drugstore and high end brands but in Australia and the U.K. it's just too expensive. xx

27th Apr 2014 - 4:08 pmI also love Melba! I would recommend: Melba, Warm Soul, and Sunbasque or maybe Blushbaby. Blushbaby is a great everday blush as well and reminds me of Exposed by Tarte. I love Sunbasque on my medium skintone in the summer.
