I’m a huge fan of Revlon lip products and an even bigger fan of matte finishes. So this is a match made in heaven, right? Thankfully, it is. These recently released Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balms ($8.99) are great lip products. I like them much better than the much hyped Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains. The colors I will be reviewing today are Complex, Showy, Unapologetic, and Shameless. Click on for lip, face, and arm swatches (all the types of swatches; swatch party, yeah!)
Revlon deserves a pat in the back for constantly releasing nice lip products at affordable prices that have a beautiful color selection. Showy and Unapologetic are my two favorites from this bunch. So, how’s the formula on these? Creamy and pigmented. Since they’re balms, they’re not all that matte. Still, they’re matte enough for me (I don’t like super shiny lipsticks). They don’t dry out my lips. The wear time is so-so. They leave a slight stain behind. The pencils are twist-ups which means no sharpening required.
The only color of the bunch I’m disappointed with is Shameless because it goes on patchy (as you can see from the lip and arm swatch). So skip that one, but do get Unapologetic because it’s gorgeous!
