Review: Rimmel Stay Blushed in Apricot Glow
I got this product several months ago after seeing it featured in a few blogs but hadn’t gotten around to reviewing it because I find it a bit ordinary. It does have some positive qualities, one of which would be it’s affordable price. I simply wasn’t blown away. The product I’m talking about is the Rimmel Stay Blushed! Liquid Cheek Tint in Apricot Glow ($3).
My biggest gripe with this product is its lack of pigmentation. Sheerness can be a good quality for fair skin tones or when it comes to vibrant colors. However, I feel like it’s unnecessary with such a light color like this one, specially on my medium skin tone which lead me to applying several layers.
I find the packaging to be practical and functional but also plain and ugly. Considering it cost around $3, it’s something I can overlook.
Moving on to the formula, I would describe it as an airy whipped paste. It’s not as thin as gel/liquid blushes such as the Becca Beach Tints or Benefit ChaCha Tint. It feels more like the Make Up For Ever HD Blushes (the ones in the pump bottle) except less silicone-y. Oddly enough the Rimmel Stay Blushed! looks really gross when you dispense it. Sometimes it separates and reminds me of cottage cheese (particularly after the first few uses). Regardless, it blends nicely and the wear time is fine.
The final verdict is that I like them but just can’t love the Stay Blushed. Neither the formula nor the colors are particularly exciting. Regardless of the low price, it’s not something I would repurchase because I rarely ever reach for this.
Have you tried it too? What did you think?
