It seems like January is the unofficial Liquid Lipstick Review Month on my blog. Sorry! I promise there is more diverse content coming up. It just so happens that I went on a liquid lipstick swatching and photographing spree last year and I’ve got several liquid lippie reviews backed up. Hopefully there’s a handful of you who who are also unable to resist checking out new formulas (a.k.a. You won’t mind). Today’s spotlight is on the Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipsticks. We’ll be looking at the shades: Polished Purple, Blackberry Sorbet, African Violet, and Always Red.
First of all: I apologize for the lack of face and lip swatch pictures in this post. You know I like to include those in my reviews to make them as helpful and visual as possible. This post was one I started working on in Puerto Rico, but due to the Hurricane and the move, I don’t have access to these lipsticks anymore. So instead of thrashing the post altogether, I decided to publish it anyway– sans lip swatches. It was an extraordinary situation, it won’t become the norm. 😓 I promise!
Moving on… I have featured Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipsticks on my blog before. I think they are a great option for people who love matte liquid lipstick formulas and want better quality than what’s available at the drugstore without spending an exorbitant amount of money on high-end brands. This formula is pigmented, long-wearing, easy to apply, and doesn’t flake off. It’s not as drying as a lot of drugstore liquid lipsticks. The only downside is that the texture is not as nice as some of the high-end alternatives. It can accentuate lip texture a bit. Still, it’s a great trade off because it’s only about $5 pricier than drugstore brands and more than $10 cheaper than high-end ones.
The range offers several shades ranging from neutrals and nudes to purples and greens. I love when brands include non-conventional colors. If you’re interested in seeing some other shades besides these four (Polished Purple, Blackberry Sorbet, African Violet, and Always Red), see my previous posts featuring Pink Souffle (a beautiful warm, yellow-based pink) and Dark Berry (a metallic plum).
Have you tried any of the Sephora Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipsticks? Or anything from the Sephora Collection at all?
