Review: Sleek Pout Paint in Port
Sleek Pout Paint in 159 Port ($6.49 / £4.99)
I received this lovely Sleek Pout Paint from Latasha during our beauty swap. I wish I could compare its formula to that of a Lip Tar from OCC but I don’t own any Lip Tars. There are many blog posts on that topic already though. All you have to do is search for Lip Tar vs. Pout Paint. What I gathered is that the Lip Tars are a bit drier because their finish isn’t as shiny. This makes them last longer on the lips but also a bit more unforgiving. Also, their ingredients are different (Lip Tars are vegan).
Port was really comfortable to wear. It wasn’t drying at all. It lasted well on the lips, but I didn’t find that it outwore any of my long-wearing lipsticks. I actually really like the control that these tar/paint products give you in terms of application. I’m interested in mixing colors to create unique shades tailored to my preferences so I’ve already made a list of colors I want to purchase next. I do want to try a Lip Tar first to see if I like them better. Overall, I really liked Port and I think it was a good formula. Although I did blot it afterwards because it was a bit shiny for my liking.
Are you interested in this type of products or is using a lip brush too much of a hassle? If you’ve tried both which one do you prefer, Lip Tars or Pout Paints?
