Rimmel Scandal Eyes Kohl Pencils
Hello, lovelies! I realize the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Kohl Liner in Nude is quite popular and has been reviewed numerous times, but I wanted to review two other colors (Light Blue and Deep Blue) and compare Nude to my only other nude eyeliner (MAC Chromagraphic Pencil in NC15/NW20). I do think these eyeliners are quite good and they’re very affordable. From the drugstore I really liked the Milani Liquif’eye Eyeliners and the L’Oreal Extra Intense Eyeliner, but these are better and cheaper!
These pencils are quite creamy. Some of the creamiest I’ve found at the drugstore so they are quite easy to work with. The only one that was a touch drier was Deep Blue.
They are actually quite water resistant once they set. All of them are very pigmented and long lasting. They don’t smudge badly on the waterline either. The only negative I found is that once I opened them they stiffened a little and the tip broke off Light Blue and Deep Blue after the second use.
These are really good eyeliners for the price (and in general, really). I think the standout color for me is Light Blue because it’s very unique. Most brands don’t have this kind of color in their eyeliner collection.
Rimmel Scandal Eyes Nude vs. MAC Chromagraphic NC15/NW20
I’ll say right away that I prefer MAC’s NC15/NW20. I think both eyeliners are creamy, pigmented, and brighten your eyes when worn on the waterline. However, NC15/NW20 wears a bit better on my waterline. I have to reapply Nude more often. That isn’t the deal breaker for me since the Rimmel pencil is less than half the price. What makes me prefer NC15/NW20 is the color. As you can see from the swatch, it’s more yellow/neutral than Nude. Nude looks quite peach when you swatch them side-by-side. It’s not a big deal, but I think that NC15/NW20 looks more natural for my skintone.
