Rimmel ScandalEyes Shadow Stick in Blamed Blue
Hi, beauties! Happy Friday! I’ve been totally loving cream eyeshadow pencils during the month of March. I’ve also been extremely impressed with Rimmel’s new product releases. I previously posted a review of Rimmel’s Scandal Eyes Eyeshadow Stick in Blackmail. Today I’m reviewing the shade Blamed Blue. Here are my thoughts on this product:
Color and Pigmentation
Blamed Blue is a gorgeous metallic navy. It looks like a mermaid blue to me. These are the kind of blue shades I like to wear. I find that frosty blues (like aqua colors) don’t look good on me. Blamed Blue is pigmented but it sheers out when you blend it.
Formula and Longevity
Blamed Blue is creamy, easy to blend, and lasts long. Now, just like Blackmail, Blamed Blue looks patchy on the eyes. It’s not that easy to get it to look even (see image above). This is why I feel like the Scandal Eyes Eyeshadow Sticks work best as eyeshadow bases (like the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils) but they aren’t something I would wear alone as an eyeshadow (as opposed to the Milani Shadow Eyez which work amazing on their own.)
Overall
Blamed Blue works well as a base. It transforms any color you put over it and extends its wear time. However, it doesn’t work well enough on its own so I wouldn’t use it as an eyeshadow. It’s still a good quality versatile product at an affordable price.

15th Mar 2013 - 4:28 pmI'd love to compare this colour to the Milani Liquif'eye in Aqua because they seem to be quite similar, maybe this one is a tad darker. I think only a handfull of people can pull off frosty blues on their eyes. For my anime looks I have used such shades, but to go out I really don't think they're flattering. Maybe it's the shimmer because I have worn electric blue in its matte form and looks gorgeous on brown eyes.
Thanks for the review Coco! Have a great weekend darling xx
PS Hope you've recovered now ^^

18th Mar 2013 - 9:31 amI've seen frosty blues look good on girls with really pale and cool toned skin because it's not a harsh contrast on them. I prefer navy blues anyways so I'm happy ๐
They are very similar but I'd say the Milani Aqua has a bit more green (aqua/turquoise) and Blamed Blue is more of a royal blue xx

17th Mar 2013 - 11:14 amThe swatch looks so stunning – just a shame it doesn't 100% translate onto the lids. I'd still consider it for a base as you've suggested because it is lovely!
