Sephora Double Contouring Cream Blush in Apricot Sheen
Let’s be real, a few years ago the Sephora Collection line was very uninspired. The quality of the products felt like duds you’d find at the drugstore but with a higher price tag. Thankfully they redesigned the line and reformulated existing items (the new eyeshadow singles are pretty good!) A personal favorite of mine is their Cream Lip Stain (it was recommended in the comments by one of you a long time ago). Today I’ll be reviewing their Double Contouring Cream Blush in 01 Apricot Sheen ($16).
The formula for this blush is actually pretty good! It feels smooth, thin, and blends effortlessly. It’s not overly dewy so I would say it sets to a satin/matte finish. The pigmentation is right in the middle: neither sheer not crazy pigmented. What do I call crazy pigmented? Things like the Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge. One tap of your brush is enough for both cheeks. This means the Double Contouring Blush is easy to work with but will need layering to show up on deep/tan skin tones.
I rarely want cream blushes with shimmer in them, but this time I did. The shimmer in Apricot Sheen is small and gold-toned. Sadly, it doesn’t really show on the face. :/ Might as well be matte.
About the packaging: This blush is domed. It protrudes like a bubble, reminiscent of Guerlain Meteorites Bubble Blush and the new Benefit Majorette Booster Blush. In order to open this blush you need to pinch the sides and the lid will pop open. I find this unnecessary and wish it were flat like every other cream blush compact. However, the packaging is not huge or overly bulky so I can manage.
Have you tried this? What are your favorite products from the Sephora Collection?
