This is officially my first post back! Thank you for all the kind words and encouragement. I created this post a while ago back when I still had pink hair (😭). I don’t even have this product with me anymore since my best friend lent it to me to review. Yet I still wanted to share it with you because I think the formula is great. It’s amongst my favourite liquid lipstick formulas. It would make a great gift for the holidays or it could be something to add to your own personal wish list.
What’s so great about it?
- The formula dries completely matte and transfer-proof. I wore this for over 6 hours without needing to touch up.
- Once it starts wearing off, it fades around the edges. There’s no flaking or peeling.
- The triangle-shaped applicator gives you sharper lines and a more precise application around the cupid’s bow as opposed to the more commonly used doe foot shape.
What’s not so great?
- Because the formula is so long-lasting, it dries very “tight” and accentuates lip lines and creases. It might be less noticeable on natural shades such as pinks, peaches or nudes. This is a common issue with matte liquid lipsticks. There’s usually a sweet spot between longevity and a softer formula. If extra wear time is not something crucial for you (i.e. you don’t plan on wearing this during whole shift at work or an entire night out without reapplying) then you might prefer a product with a softer texture.
Final thoughts: The reason I often reach for liquid lipsticks is because I can put them on and forget about reapplying or worrying about transferring. So for me, the tighter texture is something I can overlook if it gives me over 10 hours of wear time. The Always On Matte Liquid Lipsticks come in a variety of shades. I appreciate that they have non-conventional colors like Chill Zone as well as the typical reds, nudes, and plums. I’m eyeing Girl Gang or Miss Conduct for the future. 😀
