Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Lipstick in Unicorn
You’re going to be seeing a handful of liquid lipstick reviews coming up on my blog. Admittedly, it’s my favorite type of lipstick formula yet I rarely wear it anymore. My lips are so dry due to my first cold-as-heck frosty winter that ultra-matte products like these emphasise my chapped lips and feel uncomfortable. However, I realize that not everyone is experiencing winter right now. Some of you may be looking for a fun, bright summer shade that can stay on all day. If that’s the case, Unicorn from Too Faced is perfect for you.
About the formula
+ The Melted Matte Liquified Lipstick formula is reminiscent of Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks or the Smashbox Always On (which I recently reviewed here). In short, the formula is outstanding.
+ It applies easily and evenly without patchiness or clumping.
+ It doesn’t dry too quickly so you have enough time to work with it during application.
+ It lasts for over 8 hours. Then it starts fading around the center of the mouth (no flaking).
I actually have nothing negative to say about this product. My only comment is that Unicorn looks much darker in promotional pictures and on Too Faced and Sephora’s websites than it actually is in person. It’s not quite a neon purple but it’s definitely very bright.
If you are in the same predicament as me (chapped winter lips are keeping you from wearing matte liquid formulas) you can try the original Too Faced Melted lipsticks. They’re not matte or transfer proof, but have a satin liquid formula that is gentler on the lips and looks similar to the Matte Liquifieds. I reviewed that original formula previously, click here to see it.
