Long time no see! It seems like life keeps conspiring against me blogging properly lately. I recently contracted pinkeye. It was my first time and thankfully it was a mild case only on my left eye. The problem is, of course, that you can’t apply makeup when you have pinkeye because you risk spreading it to the other eye or contaminating your makeup. So that threw off my posting schedule a bit. I’m all better now and I want to share with you a really exciting new makeup brand called trèStiQue. I love introducing brands on my blog that you may not have heard of otherwise. It’s nice to learn about smaller brands apart from the huge household names that you read about all the time. trèStiQue launched last year (2015) and their brand mantra revolves around simplifying your makeup routine. Their packaging is incredibly well executed and their aesthetic sets them apart from the plethora of brands in the market. I was sent three products from them to try and here were my experiences with them.
I feel like no one could post about trèStiQue without talking about their packaging. All of their products come packaged in dual ended sticks with magnetic caps. The packaging is so cool because it’s made to look like the cap is off when it’s really not. This is oddly visually satisfying and a fun way to fool someone. Also, it’s a beauty blogger’s dream because you can get really pretty pictures without ruining your white fury rug. The magnet is strong so you don’t have to worry about the caps coming off.
Some of you may already be familiar with trèStiQue if you are Ipsy Bag subscribers. I know their highlighter and cream eyeshadow sticks have made appearances on Ipsy bags in the past. If you’ve never heard of them before, their brand slogan is “Beauty meets simple.” All of their products are 2-in-1 dual ended sticks. You either get the main product and a tool (such as a brush or applicator) or an additional complementary product (such as a balm for a lipstick). Their Tinted Face Stick comes with a face blender. The Concealer Crayon comes with an applicator. Their Bronzer Stick (shown in this post) comes with a brush. The Brow Pencil comes with an eyebrow gel. You get the idea. The concept is that you can carry less items and de-bulk your makeup bag.
The Brazilian Bronze stick comes with a synthetic brush which is soft but also very dense so it can create sharp contour lines if you’re looking to achieve chiseled cheeks. The product has medium opacity so it’s buildable and easy to work with. I like that it’s a yellow based bronzer because it works well on my skintone. It doesn’t contain shimmer so you can use it to contour or bronze/tan your entire face. It has a light, thin texture and it’s really easy to blend.
The Shadow Crayons come with a rubber smudge tip applicator for smudging color along the lashline. The color I received is Venetian Gold which reminds me a lot of MAC Patina Eyeshadow because it’s a cooler/pale gold as opposed to the typical bright yellow gold. I was worried that this product would crease because it took a bit longer to set compared to most cream eyeshadows. It does end up setting so it gives you more playtime to blend the product if that’s what you need.
This is the product I was most surprised with. First of all, the color is gorgeous and really bright. I was not expecting it to have as much pigmentation as it does. Secondly, it’s actually really really matte. I love that! On their website, the product is described as a “matte color” with a “shiny balm”. Matte is my favorite lipstick finish, the matter the better. I dislike when brands label lipsticks as matte but they’re more of a cream finish instead. On the other hand, Barcelona Bright Berry comes with a lightly tinted balm that you can wear alone or on top of the lipstick if you do feel like wearing a glossy lip sometimes.

In the picture above I am wearing all of the products: the Shadow Stick in Venetian Gold on my eyes and as a highlighter on my cupid’s bow, the Bronzer Stick in Brazilian Bronze, and Barcelona Bright Berry on my lips.
I loved every product. I’m so grateful I was able to try them. They are on the high-end price range, but they aren’t gimmicky products with nice packaging. They perform well too. I recommend checking out their website to have a better look at their stuff. There are swatches for every product on different skintones as well as videos and plenty of product pictures. I’m dying to get their highlighter because the swatches look so good and I love that it’s in a stick form.
