Try It Out Thursday: Scotch Tape Wings
Hello, beauties! Please excuse the terrible post title, it’s the shortest yet most descriptive one I could think of. I’ve been trying the “tape method” lately for making wings, sharp edges, and cut creases. I really like it! It’s easy and gives you really dramatic, sharp lines. The method consists of sticking a piece of tape along your bottom lashline. It’s really important to take most of the adhesive off the tape (by sticking it on the back of your had repeatedly) so it doesn’t hurt the skin around your eyes or ruin your makeup. The tape serves as a good guideline for eyeliner, ensuring perfect wings each time. This time I was aiming for a softer look (a diffused wing) so I used black eyeshadow and no eyeliner. If you’d like to see how I achieved this look you can watch the video embedded in this post. Since most Try It Out Thursdays consist of trying new techniques, I’m going to try and film videos for them because I would think they would complement the blog posts nicely. Nothing too fancy though, I’m not a video making person!

I wish I could do them weekly, but sometimes they take weeks to prepare (since some include several makeup looks and I can’t do them all in one day). Anyways, here’s a list of my past Try It Out Thursdays in case you want to check them out: Speckled Eyeliner, Cut Crease, Duochromes, Colorful Eyeliner, Nude Eyeliner, Colorful Eyeshadow, MAC Mixing Medium, Ombre Lips, and Red Eyeliner.
P.S. Huge thanks to Cassie for explaining to me (ages ago) how to get a custom thumbnail on YT videos!
