I realize today isn’t Thursday but I’ve skipped so many Try It Out Thursday posts that I decided to post it sooner. Tuesdays starts with a “T” as well so it seems justified 🙂 I started this series back in November with the intention of giving a chance to products or techniques I don’t typically incorporate in my daily makeup. Hopefully this will inspire me and some of you to get creative with makeup. Today I’m showcasing a variety of eyeliner colors other than the typical black or brown:
Look 1: Plum Liner- I paired up a plum eyeliner (L’Oreal HIP Cream Eyeliner in Eggplant) with a matte beige eyeshadow (Wet’n’Wild Brulee) and a shimmery lilac (Wet’n’Wild Kitten). The complementing colors made it very easy to wear. It’s very daytime appropriate because dark plum looks softer than black cream liner.
Look 2: Blue Liner- This is my favorite one! I wore it at night and it was very fun. Mixing shades of blue gave my eyes a lot of dimension. I used CoverGirl Liquiline Blast in Blue Boom on the top lash line and Bourjois ColorExciting Eyeliner in 12 on the waterline.
Look 3: Orange Liner- This is a great way to use color if you’re not too comfortable with it yet. Go over a colorful eyeliner with black so just a little bit of color peeks through. I used Bourjois Liner Pinceau Liquid Eyeliner over Maybelline Color Tattoo in Fierce & Tangy. I also used Fierce & Tangy on the waterline and a copper eyeshadow on the lower lashline.
Look 4: Aqua Liner- Using a colorful eyeliner on its own really showcases the color. Pairing it with a darker eyeshadow on the lid will make it pop. I used the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Edgy Emerald.
Something worth mentioning is that the Maybelline Color Tattoos are cream eyeshadows. I used them as eyeliners in the spirit of being resourceful, but they go on a little lumpy when used as eyeliners. It made applying liquid liner on top for Look 3 a little difficult. Just like when applying eyeliner on top of glitter, it ends up looking “textured”.
