Valentine’s Day Makeup #1 ft. Naked 3 Palette
It’s funny that I keep posting makeup looks featuring the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette seeing as I still haven’t reviewed it. The review for the Naked 3 has been sitting in my drafts queue waiting to be finished. I guess I’ve been enjoying it too much to sit down and dissect it. Anyway, February means Valentine’s Day and V-Day means chocolate eating day (just kidding, but not really.) I’m planning to share at least two other Valentine’s makeup looks before the 14th. Here’s the first…
I rarely ever wear “romantic” makeup on Valentine’s (rosy and nude hues) seeing as I usually gravitate towards party makeup (metallics or bold lips). But thanks to the Naked 3 Palette I’ve been wearing pink makeup a lot more. This eye makeup started out as a cut crease but half way through I decided that I didn’t like it and had to buff it out. Here’s how I achieved the eye makeup: 1) I applied a generous amount of Strange, a matte beige, below my brows to highlight the brow bone. 2) In order to help with the blending and transitioning of crease colors, I used Limit, a light warm brown, right below Strange. 3) For my lid color I used Buzz, a frosty mauve. 4) With a fluffy blending brush, I swept some Darkside across the crease. 5) To make the look a little smokier, I blended some Blackheart on the outer crease. 6) The last eyeshadow I used was Dust, a shimmery champagne pink, to highlight my tear duct area.
Besides the eyeshadow, the other key points of this makeup were: a nude eyeliner on the waterline to offset some of the redness that pink shades can accentuate (I used the MAC Chromagraphic Pencil in NC15/NW20, $16), a nude pink matte blush from NARS called Love ($30, limited edition), an adorable highlighter from MAC‘s Quite Cute Collection called Miss Behave ($23, limited edition), and a bright cool-toned lip color from NARS (the Villa Lante Satin Lip Pencil, $25 limited edition). I apologize for using so many Limited Edition items but they were just so appropriate for this! 😀 Plus, the NARS items are from their Final Cut Collection which is still available in stores and online.
