YSL Creme de Blush in Audacious Orange
A few months ago I received a promotional email from Saks with a 20% off discount. Surprisingly, it didn’t exclude cosmetics. In conjunction with a 4.5% cash back at Ebates, it was almost like a 25% off discount. I took the opportunity to finally splurge on Yves Saint Laurent beauty items that I had only dreamed of trying out. Besides purchasing this YSL Creme de Blush in Audacious Orange ($38), I also ordered a Baby Doll Kiss & Blush (review coming soon).
I had swatched the YSL Creme de Blush Cream Blushes at Sephora before. The texture is quite interesting. It feels really soft and whipped, like a mousse. It’s slightly reminiscent of those discontinued Maybelline Dream Mousse Blushes. (Is anyone else mourning the loss of the Dream Mousse Concealers? I used to love those!) If you did use the Maybelline Dream Mousse Blushes back in the day, you’ll find that the YSL Creme de Blush are better in texture because they are more emollient, easier to blend, and lean more towards a gel/mousse hybrid.
The pigmentation for Audacious Orange is incredibly nice. Even if the color is intimidating, it can be easily blended out to a soft stain. The longevity of Audacious Orange isn’t as good as thicker/tackier traditional cream blushes. It stays put for about 4 hours before it begins fading.
I used Audacious Orange on my lips and cheeks in my Five Product Face Tag. Overall I liked this a lot, but I like the YSL Baby Doll Kiss & Blush better. What are your favorite YSL products?
